Dead by Daylight review

Saw is Family

Dead by Daylight is another game, created by Behaviour Interactive, that got to our hands. The firstborn was Warhammer 40.000: Eternal Crusade. We‘ve tested it twice (before and after the game moved to Unreal Engine 4.11) Another common feature is Unreal Engine 4, as they both belong to MMO action-shooter genre. These are, probably, only common features that games have. In general, these two games are different like apples and oranges.

And if WH40K: Eternal Crusade is more like iron-enriched apples’ crusade, Dead by Daylight is oranges. There’s nothing wrong with oranges, don’t get us wrong. This game is just a dark, cold grave full of oranges. This place is just as cosy, as a great variety of movies like “Friday the 13th”, “The Amityville Horror” and others…

Bytex No Man’s Sky stream announcement

It’s happening, ladies and gentelmen! One of the most anticipated games of this year is this close to the release. There has been a lot of news and rumors about the game and it’s developers, so some people may have not made up their minds yet. Well, we’re here to help you! This Friday (12.08.2016), Bytex studio will stream No Man’s Sky at 16:00 (GMT) in English language and this Thursday (11.08.2016) at 19:00 (GMT+3) in Russian language.

Except streaming the game, we are preparing a large new article with our opinion on the game. Soon, you will find it in “Testing games” section. Stay with us, it’s going to be interesting!

Eternal Crusade of Unreal Engine 4.11

Two months ago we’ve tested the performance of Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade. During these time, the game has been getting 2 bigger updates and a lot more lesser patches. The game finally moved to Unreal Engine 4.11 (UE 4.11) in patch 17 and in patch 18 Eldar faction was added. Of course, these aren’t the only changes that occured in the game. Both updates brought balance improvements other different mistakes corrections. Developers also added new maps and weapons. Russian players now have translated interface (not fully translated, to be honest) and european servers to play.

However, there are more imporvements of lesser importance. We have to admit that to our opinion, transfer to Unreal Engine 4.11, was supposed to provide us with better performance, as the developers we telling us back in March. Well, the reality turned out to be tough.

Back then, Eternal Crusade had no recommended system requirements and minimal requirements were noted as “Expect much higher requirements for Alpha using latest UE4”. Now these minimal requirements have been lifted to recommended requirements for release version.

The Culling part 2

For today, The Culling is, probably, the most bugged project that we’ve testet in our blog. 4 our testers have caught about 2 dozens of bugs within a few hours of gameplay! It’s hard to imagine how many issues we would find if we were checking the game with all our forces. But frankly speaking, the gane has been in early access for only 3 months and Xaviant Games keeps releaseng new patches (see the history and official community in Steam). The studio has been improving their first game Lichdom: Battlemage for almost a year. We hope that they are intended to support The Culling as long as possible.

The whole human history is based on survival. In times overwhelmed with capitalism, it’s much easier to do, than in the Miocene age or Migration period. It’s even more interesting to live in the virtual reality, than in the real world nowadays.

Crossout. Focus-test and perfomance

About the game

Crossout is an aggressive PvP/PvE car oriented MMO-action game in a postapocalyptic world. The game looks very promising. It has got an editor mode with almost unlimited opportunities, a variety of armored vehicles, advanced destruction model, a wide range of firearms, all possible body kits, such as saws, drills and disk saws. Experienced publisher and developer inspire trust. In other words, we are all set for some desert madness!

We haven’t only discussed the game in the most detailed preview in runet, but also recorded a let’s play. In this article we are going to describe the results of our focus test and check the performance on common configurations. Let’s get to it!

Focus-test

First of all, a few lines about what focus test is. This is a test for a focus group, the purpose of which is to predict the reaction of players on the product itself and it’s parts: graphics, sound, useability of interface, difficluty, entrance level etc.
The aim of our focus test was to gather opinions of experienced players on basics of Crossout. The personal opinion of one player and the sum of answers of a devil’s dozen are two different things, all in all.

My name is Max. My world is fire. And blood.
«Mad Max: Fury Road»

A slow truck caught under the fire of a pod of adroit buggies. It has already started to lose it’s armor… One of the chasers was torn apart as the driver fired with a missile. It was too late though. Rear wheels fell off under the hundreds of bullets and the bottom of the car has gone into sand. The last thing that driver saw was the dozer blade coming up. It was the third minute of a heat in Crossout.

Targem Games from Ekaterinburg will celebrate it’s 15-th birthday next year. It has a decent experience in game developing of over a dozen different projects. The strongest point of this studio have always been racing games. Older generation of gamers can remember Ex Machina, younger players had seen Sledgehammer and Insane sequel. The smallest ones know BlazeRush. It’s fair to say that we all grew up with Targem!
