On May 12-13, in Moscow took place developers’ conference, named DevGamm. Every year, this event attracts more visitors. This time, members of Microsoft, Twitch, CD Project Red, Nintendo, Epic Games and other companies came to the conference with their reports.
The visitors had over 45 tracks with lots of different topics to attend to in two days. The event itslef, may look like a game expo, where developers can present their projects and get a couple advices from experts of the industry, hear out the feedback on the game and maybe even find a publisher. Experts were literally drowning in an unstoppable flow of games (over 70 projects) . Thankfully, they are more than experienced in such things.
Winners of contests:
- A shy, but very interesting game “Light house” has won Microsoft Special Award
- Andrey Romanov and his game “Across the moment” has won Other Kind Games Special Award
- “Algothica” has won Jam Kanobu
One of the most interesting features of DevGamm is Game Lynch. It’s some kind of a contest, where experts have 5 minutes to criticize the game in a playful way. After that the developer has got 1 minute to defend the game. Which ever loses must drink. This time, the “steel liver” award goes to Alex Nichiporchik (tinyBuild Games). Even Sergey Galenkin couldn’t help him. What a great reason to be proud of homeland game development!
Every year the conference becomes more popular and less pricy. This time the cost was 125$ for an indie-ticket and 250$ for a bussiness-ticket. Those, who couldn’t come to the conference, had an opportunity to watch the DevGamm stream.
